Getting Started

What is AppsRank?

AppsRank is a developer tool that lets you track App Store rankings across 170+ countries and 25+ categories in real time. You can monitor your own apps, compare with competitors, and discover trending apps worldwide.

Do I need an account?

No. AppsRank works without any account or login. Just download and start browsing rankings immediately.

Is it available on Mac?

Yes. AppsRank works on iPhone, iPad, and Mac with a single download. Your data stays on each device locally.

Rankings & Data

Where does the ranking data come from?

All ranking data is sourced from Apple's public iTunes RSS feeds and iTunes Search API. Data is fetched live from your device directly to Apple's servers — we have no backend or servers of our own.

How often is ranking data updated?

Charts are fetched live from Apple each time you load them. Data is cached for 1 hour to reduce API calls. Pull to refresh to get the latest data anytime.

Why does my app show "100+"?

Apple's iTunes RSS feed returns only the top 100 apps per chart. If your app is ranked below #100, it will display as "100+". This is a limitation of the public data source.

Does the app work offline?

Previously loaded charts are cached and viewable offline. Tracking history is always available since it's stored locally. Fetching new ranking data requires an internet connection.

Tracking & History

How does app tracking work?

Tap the + button in the My Apps tab, search for any app, and add it. AppsRank will record its ranking position each time you open the app. Over time, this builds a history chart showing how rankings change.

How far back does history go?

Ranking history is recorded from the moment you start tracking an app. Data is stored for up to 30 days. The more often you open the app, the more data points you collect.

Can I compare my app with competitors?

Yes. From any tracked app's detail page, tap the menu (⋯) and select Compare. You can search for and add up to 3 competitors, then see real-time ranking comparisons across any country.

Privacy & Security

Is my data private?

Completely. All data is stored locally on your device using Apple's SwiftData framework with iOS encryption. We don't collect any personal information, analytics, telemetry, or tracking data whatsoever. See our Privacy Policy.

Do you use analytics or tracking?

No. We do not use Google Analytics, Firebase, crash reporting tools, advertising networks, or any third-party tracking. Zero data leaves your device.

Billing & Subscriptions

Is AppsRank free?

Yes. AppsRank is completely free to use with all features included. We offer optional support subscriptions for users who want to help fund ongoing development, but they are not required for any functionality.

How do I cancel a subscription?

Open Settings on your iPhone → tap your name at the top → SubscriptionsAppsRankCancel Subscription. All subscriptions are managed entirely through Apple.

Can I get a refund?

Refunds are handled by Apple. Visit reportaproblem.apple.com to request a refund for any App Store purchase.

Troubleshooting

Charts aren't loading

1. Check your internet connection.
2. Pull to refresh on the Charts tab.
3. Try switching to a different country or category.
4. Force-close the app and reopen it.
5. If the problem persists, Apple's iTunes API may be temporarily unavailable — try again later.

The app is running slowly

Go to Settings → Clear Chart Cache to free up cached data. If you're tracking many apps, rankings refresh may take a moment when the app opens.
